How to Get Drivers, Firmware, and Other Support for Your NETGEAR Hardware

NETGEAR is a computer technology company that manufactures routers, switches, and other network equipment.

NETGEAR was founded as part of Bay Networks in 1996 and was then purchased by Nortel Networks Corporation (a now bankrupt manufacturer of network equipment) in 1998.

NETGEAR repurchased Nortel's share of the company in 2003 to become its own company.

You can choose between support for home products and support for business products. Downloads, product manuals, and everything else mentioned below can be accessed through this NETGEAR Support page.

NETGEAR Firmware & Driver Download

NETGEAR provides an online source to download drivers and firmware for their hardware:

You can use the search box to search by product name or model number, or you can browse the results manually through the Product Drilldown option. If browsing manually, you must first choose the proper category and product family before you're given a list of products to choose from.

Note: You'll be asked to register for a NETGEAR user account when you download firmware and other software, but you can just exit that window to start the download without registering.

There are several other places to download drivers too, if you're unable to find them directly through NETGEAR's own website.

NETGEAR Product Manuals

Many of the user guides, instructions, and other manuals for NETGEAR hardware are available on the NETGEAR support website:

Similar to when downloading firmware and drivers from NETGEAR, you can search for specific products or browse through all of them manually. Either way, any available documentation is displayed on the left side of the page next to the other downloads.

Note: Most manuals for NETGEAR products are available in PDF format. There are several free PDF readers you can download if you don't already have one.
